Duped and divorced by my wife, what should I do?

I kept a mistress, but I did it quietly, so as not to

give my wife any cause for complaint. Then, all of a sudden, we have a new maid in the house - a very pretty girl, smelling of

verbena, dark, slim but curvy. I fell for her at once. She

resisted, but then agreed, and we were caught on the act. The court granted in my wife's favour, she got everything, and only later I found out how she did it. There are special places, dealing with such things! She got a photo of my mistress, went to them, and they hired her a maid, who was of the same type as my mistress, they taught her to use my favourite smell, and she agreed with my wife to have it with me at 5 o'clock on Thursday, in her bedroom. My wife invited her Mamma and Papa, and her uncle d'Orvelin, the President, and Monsieur Raplet, the Judge, my friend. They walked in and caught me. Her father wanted to beat me! And the maid was paid 10 thousands for her "services" - it was her 8th divorce! Can I do something now, as I was duped?

Duped and divorced by my wife, what should I do?
As I see it sir you aren't divorced yet. Don't listen to your idiot wife's bragging (how the hell did she get the guests to wait five hours to set you up even way?). She isn't "Saved" yet. Stoop to her level if you have to. Don't let that black widow ruin your life.
Reply:You duped yourself.

Sorry. But there's no one to blame but you.
Reply:that would actually make a really interesting story. but unfortunatly, u were the one to blame.
Reply:You've got a good penchant for stories. Sounds like it will be a good book. Very conspiracy theory.
Reply:well, for starters you tried to dupe your wife by cheating on her. It is only fair play that she set you up to catch you in the act. Play with fire, you gonna get burned!
Reply:I think you deserved it....
Reply:unless you can get hard concrete evidence of this with witnesses and photos, and bank statments .. then you just up that certain creek without a paddle bro ...
Reply:That's quite a story line -- when will the book come out? I'd recommend it to my book club!
Reply:*yawn* - Boring!
Reply:Pondering whether or not you are duping your readers!

If not, it would appear the kettle is calling the pot...black.

What goes around, comes around.
Reply:If you were so disatisfied in your marriage, why do you care if she leaves you? Moral CHEATERS GET CHEATED

Reply:Now that, my friend ,is funny stuff.
Reply:Nope!
Reply:wouldn't that be considered prostitution???
Reply:I'm not sure, but why would you marry a woman who has been married so many time before????

What is eating my flowers??

I just started a window sill garden. I have gardenmum, verbena, waxed something, impatiants, bee balm, oregano and basil. They ranged in colors purple, red, gold, green, and pink. The only things that have survived is the red waxed and so far the impatiants(but I planted those yesterday along with the bee balm). I thought at first the hard rain made the oregano sink and loose some green until every flower is being eaten till the very dirt touches it. I'm pretty sure it is birds because I live on the second floor. Most these flowers were planted within a week, so I doubt it's bug so soon. What can I do to deter them? I want my flowers and herbs!

What is eating my flowers??
I don't think it's birds either, but I do suspect a rodent of some kind. Mice are amazing little climbers, and do like to nibble flowers. Could be chipmunk or squirrel also, or maybe some other night marauder (you don't mention where you live). And since it happened so fast, and you don't see bugs (or their droppings - black specks indicate caterpillars), I'd say it's a small critter.

Is there any way you can create some sort of cage over your plants? Perhaps something fashioned out of hardware cloth or chicken wire? Not the prettiest to look at, but it may work. Be sure to get the wire with very small openings - mice can get into very small places. Try to get 1/2" or smaller - hardware cloth comes this way (it's not cloth at all, but metal mesh. A bit difficult to work with, you'll need metal shears or tin snips, and gloves, as it's sharp when cut).

Another thing it could be is slugs - they feed at night, and during the day hide in soil or under pot trays. Sometimes you can get a 'case of slugs' from the potting soil you used, or in the soil of the plants you buy at garden centers. You can put out saucers of stale beer to trap them, or get diatomaceous earth to spread on top of the soil - makes the surface 'itchy' for soft bodied slugs. The earth is available at garden centers or pool supply stores, and I think pet supply stores that sell fish supplies (used for filtering). Crushed eggshells can work for this too, especially if your area to cover is small. Cheap and easy too.

Good luck!
Reply:It isn't birds. It sounds to me like root rot. Are the pots well drained? If not, then the plants are sitting in water and are literally drowning.
Reply:it might be a rabbit

I am not finished with this, but what do you think of this poem so far?

You think I don’t see you but I do.

Don’t turn around for you will see me, too.

Yesterday my verbena was tall.

Now it looks like it missed summer and went to fall.

I know you ate it by the way it looks.

Twernt any fish that ate it from the brooks.

One of these days you will go too far,

And I will snatch you up and put you in my car.

Far away I will drive to relocate your hide,

And when I do, my garden, n’er you’ll be inside.

Keep on eating the grass for I don’t mind.

It is rye grass, which grows back in time.

I am going back inside to re-read my notes.

I’d rather have you around than an old billy goat.

My gladiolous you have not touched.

You’re so young, guess you don’t know much.

I fret the day you taste one of them

Because when you do they’ll be gone – bulb and stem.

I am not finished with this, but what do you think of this poem so far?
It is alright PS do you have a girlfriend
Reply:I think it's great so far. I love your style. This suits my taste in poetry. I love a poem that tells a story and you've told it well in my opinion. Can't wait for the 'finish'.
Reply:Hahaha...for one horrifying second I thought you were talking about a woman instead of a rabbit...could you specify that in your poem or include it in the ending so I don't get all freaked out thinking you're going to kidnap some unexpecting girl...lol. Yeah, it needs some work, the old-language is confusing to some audiences, irritates others, and amuses the rest. Shakespeare was old and bawdy...let him use the dumb words. I know there's some liscence to be had when rhyming, if you read mine you'll see that I had to stretch at some points too, but don't work too hard to get it to work for you. Try finding different ways to say exactly how you feel. It might end up working better both rythmically and match closer to what you're trying to express.
Reply:Lame.
Reply:my personal opinion is it is very very good.
Reply:ohhh my i think its interesting... But what is it about....exactly.
Reply:Parts of it are a little forced. Don't try too hard to make it rhyme! If need be, you can change the pattern, or not rhyme at all. Like this:

You think I don't see you,

But I've always seen

The curve of your smile

And the warmth of your sheen.

Or something like that. Also, where did you get 'twernt'? Now you're just making up words on me.
Reply:aww i like the feeling that it gives, it just needs a little tweaking here and there
Reply:I think it's very good. All thru the poem, I was

trying to figue out what was eating at your

garden....until you told us in the details.

Do gladiolas bulbs really taste good? or just

to rabbits?
Reply:weird creepy and disgusting

If detoxykall is so safe, then why can't the elderly, ppl under 18, people w/ high blood pressure etc use it?

DETOXYKALL is a liquid concentration which contains the following ingredients in its proprietary blend:

Aloe Vera Gel, Hoodia Gordonii, Arctium Lappa, Panax Ginseng, Taraxacum Officinale, Raphanus Sativus, Camellia Sinensis,Cynara Scolimus, Paullinia Cupana, Piper Nigrum, Crocus Sativus, Verbena Officinalis, Juniperus Communis, Angelica Archangelica, Opuntia Coccinellifera, Zingiber Officinale,Hibiscus Sabdariffa, Panicum Miliaceum, Sesamum Indicum, Rosa Canina, Nasturtium Officinale, Apium Graveolens, Tilia Cordata, Diospyros Kaki, Myrtus Communis, Undaria Pinnatifida, Laminaria Digitata, Chlorella Vulgaris.

It also contains: Ascorbic Acid,Citric Acid, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Deionized Water, Polysorbate-20 and Peppermint Oil.

so if it mostly contain herbs, why can't some people use it? especailly the elderly and people under 18? it only cleanse the body for toxic right? or is there something else to it that makes it harmful to the elderly and teens?

If detoxykall is so safe, then why can't the elderly, ppl under 18, people w/ high blood pressure etc use it?
The products states it should not be used by the elderly, children under 18, people being treated for high blood pressure, and especially if you are breastfeeding, depression, heart conditions, thyroid conditions, and or diabetes.

The product contains Hoodia and sodium both of which can increase your blood pressure.

If you read through their program it states that you should drink plenty of water, exercise, and eat a high protein / low carb diet. Well, if you just did this without using the Detoxykall you would loose weight in a healthy manner. Just because it contains herbs does not mean that it is safe or effective.

You can do a websearch on each herb listed by typing in "side effects of (list the name of the herb)" and read up on them all to see what they are used for and their safety.

Good luck and I hope this helped a bit!

All you need is:

2 bags of lemon tea. (Or any herbal tea that contains lemon grass lemon peel, lemon verbena (optional) and natural lemon flavor.I used BIGELOW I love Lemon Herb Tea.

Herbal (Natural or organic work too) shampoo

Any conditioner

A plastic cup

A shower cap

All you do is:

Fill up the cup 3/4 full with the hot water from your shower.

Put the tea bag in. Wait 3-4 min. Shake the bag for faster results.

Put the tea on your hair after it is cool. Put your hair in a shower cap.

Wait 20-30 min.

Make another tea filled cup.

Rinse off your hair in the shower and put the other tea in your hair before you shampoo, rinse.

Select between Mayflower Hotel and Casa Rosario. Mayflower Hotel is a walking distance from the provincial capitol of Cebu, while Casa Rosario is near the Redemptorist Church. It has clean air conditioned rooms but are without swimming pools and are starless.

Okay, now I am finished. What do you think of this poem?

You think I don’t see you but I most certainly do.

Don’t turn around for you will see me, too.

Yesterday my verbena was full and tall.

Now it looks like it missed summer and went straight to fall.

I know you ate it by the way it now looks.

It was not a fish to eat it near the babbling brooks.

One of these days you’ll go too far,

I’ll set a trap, and you be relocated way out thar.

Far away we’ll go to relocate your hide,

My garden may then be happy you won’t be inside.

Keep on eating the grass for I do not mind.

Rye grass reseeds quickly, which grows back quick in time.

For now I’ll go inside to read my critter notes.

I’d rather have you around than an old billy goat.

My gladiolus you have not yet touched.

You’re so young; guess you don’t know too much.

I fret the day you taste one of them

Because when you do they’ll be gone – bulb and stem.

It says here that no matter what I plant,

You can develop a taste for any plant.

I won’t be cruel and plant something poisonous.

But if you again eat more that grass you won’t live with us.

The toads and frogs do their job with pests,

The garter snakes keep the big birds from making their nests.

Even the squirrels know better than you,

To not mess with my plants that are so new.

If my uncles were here, you’d become a stew.

Be glad they aren’t, I’ve found a friend in you.

But be careful not to cross that line.

I may have my druthers when it comes that time.

Your black and brown fur look good on you,

And your little cotton white tail does suit you.

Those nearly invisible whiskers are still quite short,

And your ears have much growing for your sort.

Your keen hearing makes you scared on garbage day,

When those mean loud men throw away their metal hay.

Shall I call you Doc, or Thumper or Bugs?

I guess just wabbit will do for us.

Okay, now I am finished. What do you think of this poem?
I liked your original version of this. It was fresh and orginal and feels forced now. Stay with your original flow and expression. Just because you don't happen to be somebody's cup o' tea at any given time or place, doesn't mean it isn't good at all. It just means it doesn't happen to appeal to the audience you offer it to.

You polish a thing sometimes and you lose the whole original charming flavor of it. The naturalness was, in my opinion, what made it so interesting and inviting.

Write poetry "your" way. Don't mold it to please others.

Here you go; not from an online translator.

Contigo me vo´a dar una jaltea,-- With you, I'm going to have a dance

quiero comerme la ensalada entera,-- I want to eat the entire salad

deja la pena, no te arranques las venas-- leave your worries, don't rip your veins out

ese colillon esta que bota flema-- that dude looks like he's going to spit up phlegm

se empato el juego en la novena-- the game was tied in the ninth

usted es la reina de la verbena-- you are the queen of the festival

usted me llena hasta mas no beber-- you fill me up until I can't drink anymore
Reply:well, the translator gave me this:

Best Coconut scent from bath and body works???
I have Coconut Lime Verbena and Creamy Coconut....the Verbena is way more limey that anything. The CC is really sweet smelling, almost vanilla. Never smelled the exotic...but out of the 2 I have, CC is closer to coconut.
Reply:Can't smell them through the computer, sorry...try smelling them in person since every one has different tase in what they like. I wouldn't buy a scent based on what people tell me, I need to smell it on me.

Is this safe in late pregnancy?

I know some teas and herbs are best avoided during late pregnancy because of the risk of uterine contractions so I was wondering if any of you knew if these herbs were safe. This is a tea that I'd like to try but not sure if it is safe. I'm 38 weeks pregnant and dilated to a 2. (Just for info)

ORGANIC PASSIONFLOWER HERB: 360 mg.

ORGANIC CHAMOMILE FLOWER: 255 mg.

(I READ CHAMOMILE COULD POSSIBLY BRING ON MENSTRUATION..?)

ORGANIC LINDEN FLOWER: 135 mg.

ORGANIC CATNIP HERB: 45 mg.

ORGANIC HOP STROBILE: 30 mg.

ORGANIC SPEARMINT LEAF

ORGANIC LEMON VERBENA LEAF

ORGANIC LEMON PEEL

ORGANIC WEST INDIAN LEMONGRASS LEAF

That is what the tea consists of..do you see any red flags or am I ok to frink this for relaxation? Thank you.

Is this safe in late pregnancy?
Absolutely not!!!! Herbs are drugs just as powerful and dangerous as drugs sold over the counter or by prescription!!! Especially when taken during pregnancy! Please, please ask your doctor about it. And why not just let nature take it's course? You are already 2cm, labour will soon start anyways. Best wishes, and congradulations to you and your family!
Reply:I'd skip all of those and drink red rasbarry leaf tea(for uterus widwife's tell you to drink it near then end of pregnancy) and fenugreek(to help with milk flow).
Reply:as far as i know these are all safe but if in doubt talk to your doctor...
Reply:you already have a kid. didn't you already go through this before why are you asking?

wow you have way too many things that cost way too much.

some of those things you can find at a local drug store like cvs or at walmart for way cheaper and they work the same.

but i guess you could just remove some of the doubles that you have...like for example there are at least two different types of scrubs...and some other things that you have two different kinds of....

you really don't need that many of the same thing. if you want some of these brands then i suggest you pick one and get that one...instead of getting two different types of things and potentially wasting money
Reply:okay all that stuff fromthe body shop you can get from ulta and if yo wait for a coupond you can save so there is about $40. fresh face water... just use priere or avian water. it is high quailty nature springs water. olive express radiance mask just mix toether your own.

HELP!!! My plants have some kind of disease?!!?

My verbena and calibrachoa have little white spots ( if you took a pen and dotted a piece of paper, that is what they look like. ) They are all over the foliage. They are young plants, they were starts when I recieved them about 3 weeks ago. I also have been having trouble with botritis on my plants, bacopa mainly. I've sprayed them with a fungicide and cleaned them up, any other suggestions? Oh, the new growth on the cali., and verbena look yellow, I am sure it's not from overwatering , what else could it be? I have good soil that I order in bulk from a local nursury. Over night my plants went from healthy green to yellow, weak, some wilting it's just amazing and frustrating! My helichrysum has some leaves that are turning dark and wilting. I know this is a lot and there are a lot of diseases out there I just feel stuck. I couldn't find any good sites on the internet that offered pics with the disease on annuals. There were a few but not any good. All of my plants are in a greenhouse

HELP!!! My plants have some kind of disease?!!?
Watch how you are watering.

Make sure the water is not touching the foliage as you water and that it is not too cold

Sounds like you have thrips and maybe spidermites.

Yellow foliage- need fertilizer, more iron, check the pH.

Helichrysum sounds like it has gotten too wet or staying too cold.

What is the night temperature? sounds like it got too low

Get a high low thermometer so you know what is going on at night.

Find a way to increase the air circulation in the structure, it will help.

Cornell university has an excellent horticultural site, I use it very often.

Make sure the floor of the greenhouse is clean and the plants are not on the floor.-that is where most problems start.
Reply:The white dots are almost certainly scale insects. They don't move. They build that little white "shelter" over them so they can suck the life out of your plant at their leisure.

Go to your favorite L%26amp;G Center and ask them for Shultz Houseplant Spray. The active ingredient is made from chrysanthemum flowers and it lasts about 6 weeks which should do the trick.

If you want something that is nontoxic get Neem Oil or Horticultural Oil. They kill them by coating them with oil and they suffocate. If you use the oil spray them every 2 weeks for 3 times.

At the end of 6 weeks for either treatment take a cotton ball and lukewarm water and a drop or 2 of detergent and gently wipe off all the dead white spots. They're tough insects but they can be beaten.

*Even if I am wrong about it being scales, which some people think I am (I'm not one of them) the treatment would be the same for mites, thrips, and mealybugs.
Reply:its gonorrhea
Reply:spider mites - you'll see fine webs on leaf stems

mealy bugs - white fuzzy critters that will decimate your plant

Solution for both: Spectracide 3 in 1, HomeyD, Lowz, Wallyworld
Reply:what re those people rambling about? white dots are trips traces - they puncture leaf and leave white dots. they usually affect young plants. unfortunately there is no cure or trips. try vaporizing water around your plants - trips and other insects do not like humid air. yoru air is obviously too dry. and if all your plants are not doing well u re doing smth wrong - either overwatering them, or u just repotted them wrongly, and if your soil is from nursery it doesn't make it perfect either
Reply:it sounds like a mixture of problems, the little dots sounds like red spider mite, they are so small that your unlikely to see one unless you get a good hand lense and look really hard.

yellowing of the leaves could be magnesium or iron deficency

fungul attacks are caused by a lack of air movement

do a ph test of the soil and find out what the reccomended ph range for the plant is.
Reply:go to home depot or Lowe's home store and look in their books on gardening .I used them before for various problems, take a leaf with you to compare

Scented Lotion?

Ladies, what is your favorite scented lotion?

When you buy scented lotion, do you also get the body wash and spray?

My favorite is Coconut Lime Verbena from Bath %26amp; Body Works. Or Sweet Pea.

Scented Lotion?
I have to agree with you with the sweet pea that scent is great and yes to get the full effect you should get the body wash and spray to go with it.

I also have always been a fan of the cucumber melon.
Reply:I was going to agree with Sweet Pea and also suggest Moonlight Path. I recently tried a new one called Gardenia which is very dreamy. (all from Bath and Body Works)

No, I don't usually buy all the body wash stuff to go with it. Just the lotion or the spray. :)

Herbal tea and trying to concieve?

We are trying for our first baby..yeah. I started drinking organic pergnancy tea and taking vitex.. Is this okay? I have heard different opions. what have you experinced? the tea has raspberry leaf and strawberry leaf, nettle leaf, alfalfa leaf, rose hip, bitter fennel leaf, leamon, verbena leaf

Herbal tea and trying to concieve?
If you are not having trouble conceiving I would not worry about it as herbal teas will most likely not have a positive effect, other than some minor health improvements that each herb has been shown to help with. Some of the hormonal ones may even have detrimental effect.

If you are actually having trouble conceiving I suggest trying a glyconutrient supplement, it will improve communications cell-to-cell and may improve your conception chance. And also improve you health in general when you do conceive and you then should add a Phtyo (plant) based multivitamin to the glyconutrient supplementation.
Reply:Do this exercise everyday and carry on trying to concieve. You will be happy with result and the baby will be healthy.Build up the timing gradually. If you feel tired or dizzy, stop and resume later.

Anulom Vilom –

Close your right nostril with thumb and deep breath-in through left nostril

then – close left nostril with two fingers and breath-out through right nostril

then -keeping the left nostril closed deep breath-in through right nostril

then - close your right nostril with thumb and breath-out through left nostril.

This is one cycle of anulom vilom.

Repeat this cycle for 20 to 30 minutes twice a day(maximum 60 minutes in one day).

You can do this before breakfast/lunch/dinner or before bedtime or in bed.Remember to take deep long breaths into the lungs. You can do this while sitting on floor or chair or lying in bed.

Kapalbhati -(Do it before eating) Push air forcefully out through the nose about once per second. Stomach will itself go in(contract in). The breathing in(through the nose) will happen automatically. Establish a rhythm and do for 20 to 30 minutes twice a day.(Max 60 min/day) Not for pregnant women. Seriously ill people do it gently.
Reply:you should be okay. (Im not a doc..).. Check out this article on herbal teas. Good luck with your pregnancy..

http://nutrition.smatix.com/23374.php
Reply:Yea, it's ok. All teas are good for a maturing baby and the mother.
Reply:Many herbs have not been tested for safety in pregnancy. The best advice is to avoid drugs including herbs unless absolutely needed. Vitex has hormone like effects and may disrupt your natural hormones and interfere with conception.

You should take a folic acid supplement as protection against spinal cord disorders in your baby.
Reply:hmmm sounds like bullshit

Where can I buy Spanish Zarzuela DVD or VHS videos?

I am looking for videos of famous zarzuelas such as "Marina" "La Revoltosa" %26amp; "La Verbena de la Paloma". Need links besides Ebay.

Where can I buy Spanish Zarzuela DVD or VHS videos?
I do not find any of these three available on amazon, which is always my first choice.

If neither of those work, try overstock.com

And if that doesn't work try googling the movie to see if you purchase it from anywhere.

There are so many. I like Twisted Peppermint and Coconut Lime Verbena.

Agatha Christie fans...I need your help!!!?

I've read all of her books and I seem to recall a novel or story that had something to do with lemon verbena. Something about a mother and son...but I don't know which book/story and I can't remember any other details about it. This has been nagging at me for some time...please help!!!

Agatha Christie fans...I need your help!!!?
I'm definitely an Agatha Christie fan, but lemon verbena doesn't ring a bell. I wasn't going to answer this until I noticed that nobody had answered.

It wasn't a mother and son, but Endless Night had a conservatory in it and a lot of plants. Could it have been that one?

Would you recognize the title of the book if you saw it? If so you could check her titles at http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/c/agat... Fantastic Fiction.

You could also go to the official Agatha Christie web site and ask a question about it. You may get an answer. This http://us.agathachristie.com/site/have_y... seems to be their message board section.

If all else fails, check http://www.whatsthatbook.com/ - you can ask a question about a book whose name you can't remember and, sooner or later, someone will answer you.

I really hope this helps. I know how frustrating it can be to forget the name of a book. I'd love to know if you find out the right title!

Are Verbenas self-fruitful or not?

If I grow one verbena in my flower garden, will it produce seed by itself (there are no verbenas anywere near!), or do I need to have two or more plants? If you know the answer, then please also tell me why or share your source of information. Thank you!

Are Verbenas self-fruitful or not?
verbena species such as Verbena bonarienses- Brazilian or Tall Verbena will produce seed by itself. however, most verbenas sold in garden centers are sterile hybrids Verbena X hybrida. those cultivars will not fruit
Reply:yes. hybrid cultivars are signified by having their name within '___' marks Report It

Reply:http://www.botany.com/verbena.html

http://www.gardenguides.com/plants/info/...

These two are really good sites to look for info on verbena

hope it will help
Reply:Verbenas are monoecious plants, meaning one plant has both male and female reproductive parts. This does allow for self-fertilization.

So yes, I would say verbenas will self-fruit.

Needs help picking the perfect perfume! The more expensive the better!?

My mom loves Eternity and the Top notes are of grapefruit, verbena and fig; a heart of honeysuckle, jasmine and magnolia and a dry down of musk, sage and sandalwood. Is there anything out there that smells similar? Or do you have a suggestion for a perfume that is out of this world. Also I was thinking about getting her Unforgivable for women by Sean John has anyone tried it and if so what does it smell like???

Needs help picking the perfect perfume! The more expensive the better!?
J'Adore by Dior is out of this world. I buy a bottle every year and when my sisters come over they try to steal it from me. It costs about $80 for a 3.4 ounce bottle. She should love it. Good luck in your search.

No.1 Clive Christian prefume.

She stated that it cost $2600 an ounce.

It smells amazing!!

I loved it.I got my best friend some for christmas and she loved it.
Reply:I don't really know the answer to that; the only perfume I have is one called Casual I got for my birthday two days ago. It smells elegant and refined, with hints of crisp, clean flowers that one might find in an English garden. My favorite scent, though, is jasmine with a slight overtone of sandalwood; it's very relaxing and smells exotic at the same time. It makes me feel like I'm surrounded by a garland of fragrant white flowers, laying down in a forest of slim, pretty trees with a gentle breeze blowing through. If you go to IVillage.com and go to Beauty or whatever its called and go to Quizzes, there is one that gives you the exact right scent for you. Fill it out based on your mother's personality and your answer can be taken to the nearest department store to ask the ladies there for help. Answers like fruity, sweet floral, and woodsy come up. Good luck!
Reply:omg omg omgggg...!!!!!! I LOVE JUICY COUTURE PERFUME!!!! its like $85 which isnt that expensive but it smells soooooooooooooooooo goodd!!!! i lovee it..{and i have it}

Reply:JLO's new Desseo would be somewhat similiar, I just bought a bottle at Macys this past weekend, I love it, it has hints of fruit, sandalwood, musky smell, it smells just like the description on the Macy site, the smell of a garden before a thunderstorm.

At the holidays, Target carried a sugar scrub with the brand name "The Apothecary". Is it available on line?

The scent was Lemon Verbena and there were other items in the line--body lotion, shower gel, hand treatment. White label on jar, and a black lid.

Hmmm. . . found this. Hope it helps.
Reply:Go check out ebay... they have just about everything. If you can't find it set up a search and it will alert you when someone lists it. I think they have something like that at Wallie world. Might want to check there also.

What am I missing?

I'm making a garden. Here's what is on my list so far.

Catmint

Spearmint

Peppermint

Sweet Basil

Dark Opal Basil

Common Thyme

Lavender

Lemon Verbena

Lemon Balm

Winter Savory

Summer Savory

Calamondin Orange

Stinging Nettle

Any suggestions for more plants? I'm in Zone 6.

What am I missing?
You are missing the fact that you cant control it all. Spoiled comes to mind.Irrelevant of that statement you are still in the game of life.Life is a constant series of challenges. How you adapt to these challenges and under what circumstances you do is but a begginging that is vauge at best. The thrill is to navigate with concerne and compassion and finess with a touch of class and fortitude. Your actions do speak louder than terms.Your finess is what will make you rememberable.
Reply:Ditto on the mint, very invasive and spreads everywhere in the yard. Lemon Balm is also very invasive and will take over a garden. Keep them in containers.
Reply:dill,rosemary,parsly
Reply:How about some chives, rosemary, oregano, garlic, fennel, tarragon, purple cone flower (i don't know how to spell ecinatcia), sage. I know I sound as though I am making spaghetti sauce, but they are some of the most common herbs and some are easy to grow.
Reply:try actual foods like tomatos and cucumbers( that way you can use some of your herbs on them ;))
Reply:Just a word of warning about any type of mint in the garden. My personal experience is that it is very invasive. I planted two types of mint in the ground with my herb garden. They got huge. My boss told me that his mint took over the garden. He had to kill them with chemicals to make them go away. I pulled mine out by the roots and I STILL can't get rid of it. It just keeps coming back.

Maybe keep the mint in a container.

Is herbal tea okay for rats?

My rats seem to really like this tea made with birch leaves, parsley leaves and verbena leaves. I'm wondering if anyone knew if any of these ingredients were at all harmful? Or maybe beneficial?

Is herbal tea okay for rats?
I'm pretty sure nothing in there is deadly, I would just limit their intake of it. I'm not sure of any benefits to any of those, but then I'm not up on my holistic medicines and herbal teas. I do know that some species of verbena are abortifacients, so if you have pregnant females, or females you want to be pregnant eventually, I wouldn't.

Our rats still retain some of their sense to not eat something if its previously made them feel icky, but they still don't pull the wild rats way of 'tasting' and waiting. They just plunge right in. So, I'd think that if it made them feel ill in anyway, they wouldn't want anymore. I'd just say, keep it in moderation.

And yeah, I let my rats eat on my table too. I was eating a bowl of cereal on my couch watching TV one morning, and the rats were out like usual and the one dove off of my shoulder, into my bowl. That was a mess. Its not weird to share with them, it would be rude not to.
Reply:i dont think so... rats cant eat alot of greens (i dont know why). its much safe if you would just let your rat stick to water and give him/her rat treats instead (corn flakes) :)
Reply:better safe than sorry...your rats might like it but it can harm them...id quit giving it to them...
Reply:How on earth did you find out that? Most rat-owners don't include their furry friends at teaparties
Reply:rats practically eat anything

it might as well be okay if it doesnt have sugar :)
Reply:I have 2 rats at my home and sure I feed them sugar,so why can't you? If you want your rat to be happy, give him sugar. But don't give him sugar or herbal tea like it's his food or like it's water, just make it a snack. For tea I'd say about half a cup a day or less. You should only put a little sugar in your furry friends diet and not a lot at ALL! Two much sugar can cause diabetes causing the rat to die.Only a little sugar!!!!

If any more questions email me at:Cupcakes0701@yahoo.com
Reply:well sometimes when hamsters are really stressed liek they just arrived at a pet store from a plane ride the owners of the pet shop suggest to give them some camomile tea, im not sure about the tea that u described but if there was no problem the first time then it should proabably be fine

Hope this helped!

Are these plants poisionous??

can anyone tell me if any of these plants are poisionous to pets and/or kids

1. peace lily

2. orange begonia

3. Hanging red verbena

4. pink ornamental grass

5. varigated philadandrian

Are these plants poisionous??
Yes if you digest and eat them of course.
Reply:The vetrenarians assoc. says any plant thats not an herb is poisonous in one way or another. If you want to keep house pets out of houseplants just sprinkle a little cayenne pepper around the base of the plant. They will smell it and leave it alone. If it hurt your pets I wouldnt tell you to do this (Im a pet owner/lover)

Cheers!
Reply:Not necessarily poisonous but they certainly won't do you any good and more than likely will make you sick.
Reply:5. varigated philodandren, is poisonious to animals, mainly cats. the others are not, as far as i know, and thats coming from about 4 years of botany experience
Reply:yea i think so

Are lemon-scented herbs interchangeable?

Can I substitute lemon myrtle, lemon verbena, lemon balm and lemon grass for lemon zest? If so, how does quantity change?

Are lemon-scented herbs interchangeable?
It really depends on the recipe, although they all share lemony qualities they are not exactly the same.

The lemony herbs like the first three and lemon thyme have herbier, flowery flavours and are not ostensibly 'citrussy'.

Lemongrass has a slightly sharper flavour but would be difficult to substitute like for like as it is best used whole, allowing the flavour to infuse into the dish.

I would imagine for most stews or roast meats/fish you could substitute the zest of a lemon with about a tsp of chopped herb leaves, maybe a bit more, but they have quite a strong, almost menthol flavour.

For sweet dishes that are plain apart from the addition of lemon zest (like sponges) you could leave it out altogether, but these flavours are interesting when used in sweet dishes too.

Cover my plants?

I have some begonias, petunias, verbena, violas and pansies outside. As well as a few coleus. I live in Indiana and the temps up here have been in the 60s %26amp; 70s for the past two weeks with the nighttime temps not falling below 40. Well, tonight, it is supposed to fall to 37. Is it safe just to leave these plants alone or should I toss something over them?

Cover my plants?
37 isn't below freezing and it should only drop for a few hours so you are probably pretty safe leaving them alone.

Cover up - if you just don't wanna chance it. Any frost could potentially "burn" the leaves.
Reply:I also live in Indiana. I hear it is suppose to be down to near the freezing mark Monday morning (I think). As long as it doesn't frost your plants should be ok. The pansies and violas will be fine even if we do get a light frost. The coleus, begonias, and petunias I would cover if there is a chance of a frost. 37 degrees shouldn't be a problem especially if the flowers are close to the house. If it reaches to the lower 30's I would cover them just to be sure.
Reply:one trick we use in Texas near Houston on nights that are cold and near freezing we water the plants heavily just before the frost a heavy watering will help protect them where coveing them with a sheet hurts them by the weight of the sheet or plastic which will break the flowers and the stems
Reply:Glad to see you're so conscientious about those plants. You don't want to waste the work you've put into them so far so I would cover them gently. Nobody likes frostbite (except Bullwinkle the Moose in Frostbite Falls).

The Muse
Reply:The old saying ....Better be safe than sorry...it takes more effort to type on the net than it does to just cover the darn things!!!!
Reply:toss something over them because you never know!!
Reply:I'd throw a sheet over them, just to be safe.
Reply:i am not a real garden person but i think you should take them out just in case
Reply:We had the same condition in N.C. last week, I just put old sheets over everything just to make sure and all was fine.

4)A big pharmaceutical company conducted an initial survey to determine the chemical properties of few types?

4)A big pharmaceutical company conducted an initial survey to determine the chemical properties of few types of Verbena sp., a medicinal plant used by traditional doctors in parts of Argentina. Leaf samples were collected from thirty plants in each of three large populations for analysis in the lab. A fourth, small population was sampled as well, but as only 15 individuals could be easily located, the sample for this population consisted of two samples from separate branches of each of the 15 individuals. The sample from each plant/branch was placed in a labeled bag. While preparing the samples for chemical analysis in the lab, the lab technician found that six of the sampling bags had no labeling. However, as all the sampling bags were stacked in the order in which they were collected, the technician assigned each of the unlabeled sampling bags to a population by its location in the stack. The data were analyzed using a one-way ANOVA test to test the hypothesis that the levels of tannins didn’t differ among Verbena types.

a.Based on the information provided above, which of the assumptions of ANOVA may have been violated? Justify your answer.

b.Can you use the data (or parts of it) to test the research hypothesis in a way that will avoid the violation of this/these assumptions? If yes, please specify how.

4)A big pharmaceutical company conducted an initial survey to determine the chemical properties of few types?
I'm sorry, but you really need to do your own work. If you have a question about how to perform a mathematical operation or another generic question, feel free to post it. But blatently asking for us to do your homework for you? I don't think so, buddy.
